William Clarence Thury

Formerly of Saint Paul
Passed away peacefully at home on May 5, 2015. Bill will be remembered for his sense of humor. He left an unforgettable impression on all who knew him and would do anything for anyone. Bill was born to Clarence and Cecilia Thury on September 16, 1952. He graduated from Harding High School and St. Paul Technical College. Bill married his high school sweetheart, Elizabeth “Betty” Hoffman on October 28, 1972. He was very involved with St. Pascal Baylon Catholic church and was involved in the Men’s Club, BOOYA, the Fall Festival, the Friday Fish Fry events, Christmas tree sales, the softball team and much more. He worked for many years as a Service Manager for Mack Truck of Roseville. Outside of church and work, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapshooting, he was a goalie for hockey, played softball, umpired for softball games and watched Minnesota Wild and the Minnesota Vikings.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Cecilia. He will be dearly missed by his wife, Betty; his children, Jessica Thury of Ham Lake and Jason (Mary) Thury of North St. Paul; his grandchildren, Jacob and Bridget Thury; his siblings, Bonita Winkelman, Diane (Ronald) Warrick, Debbie (Jeffrey) Ganser, Scott Thury and Randy (Tammy) Thury; the entire Hoffman family; and too many other family and friends to mention.
Visitation 4-8 PM on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at Mueller Memorial Parkway, 835 Johnson Pkwy., St. Paul. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 AM with visitation one hour prior to Mass on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at St. Pascal Baylon Catholic Church, 1757 Conway St., St. Paul. Interment Union Cemetery, Maplewood. A donation will be made in Bill’s name to Open Arms Minnesota, a non-profit organization who provides free, nutritious meals to people living with cancer and other terminal illnesses in the Twin Cities.
