Bill was born 90 years ago to Mike and Mabel (Schuster) Schoetz in Merrill, Wisconsin. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict, and was a long-time employee of the U.S. Postal Service, University of St. Thomas, and a 50-year employee of the Minnesota State Fair. He was active in his church, and was a WCCO Radio Good Neighbor for his service to the State Fair Foundation. He is survived by his wife of 65 years Carole (nee Jackelen), daughters Camille Miller (Steve), Sara Werzel (Eric), grandsons Spencer Miller and Forrest Miller, and his sister, Sally Janisch. He is preceded in death by his son, Greg, and his brother, Mike. Memorials preferred to the Minnesota State Fair Foundation, 7-Island Lake Association, or St. Mary of the Lake church.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church, 4741 Bald Eagle Ave, White Bear Lake, with visitation from 10 AM until time of Mass on Saturday. A wake will be held from 4 PM to 7 PM on Friday, January 26, 2023 at Mueller Memorial, 4738 Bald Eagle Ave, White Bear Lake.
