William Joseph LaLonde

William Joseph LaLonde, of Centerville MN, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2023 with family at his side. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Kathleen (Hocks), daughters Cheri (David) Chadima, Jaime (David) Gitow, Tara LaLonde, two Grandchildren Rachel Chadima and Camille Gitow. Also survived by Kathleen's daughter Jessica Figenskau, and Grandchildren Ingrid, Thor and Birgit Figenskau.

Bill started his career in the Electrical business with Tieso Electric Company. He also operated and owned Highland Electric and served the Twin Cities and the surrounding area.

He was involved in the Winter Carnival where he served as a member of the Royal Guard and later, the Prime Minister to the 1983 King Boreas XLVII. Bill and his company, Highland Electric, participated in lighting the 1986 Winter Carnival's Lake Phalen Ice Palace as well as the 1992 Harriet Island Regional Park Ice Palace.

He also was an owner of 2 restaurants: Bonanza on Rice Street and Broncos Steak house on Lyndale Ave. He had a soft spot for the children and their families at Gillette Children's Hospital and often treated them to dinner and treats at his Bonanza restaurant.

Bill's hobbies included skiing at Trollhaugen and his yearly trips out West with friends and family. He taught his children how to ski with frequent trips together. He was an avid bicyclist, loved to cook and had a passion for growing plants indoors and vegetables and raspberries in his garden. The garden surrounding his home in Centerville flourished for years and was a beloved sight for the family.

The family would like to thank the caring staff of Doctors, Nurses and Hospice at Regions Hospital. They provided excellent care for Bill while he spent his final days under their care.

A memorial will be held on Saturday, 3/4/23 at MUELLER MEMORIAL, 4738 Bald Eagle Avenue, White Bear Lake with visitation starting at 10:00 am and a service & time of sharing at 11:30 am. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to Gillette Children's Hospital https://www.gillettechildrens.org/
