Bill was born in Saint Cloud, MN, and eventually moved to Saint Paul with his family. On April 8, 2000, he married Tammy and then moved to Wisconsin in 2007. He worked in construction as a roofer and painter, loved sports, fishing, and his family. Bill had a great sense of humor, loved to joke around, and made friends easily. He was a member of the Yankton Sioux tribe of South Dakota, and had very strong beliefs in his Native culture. Bill is preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Eileen Doherty; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Maynard A. and Corrine Marcellais; and brothers-in-law, Maynard E. Marcellais and Gregory Bazille; and sister-in-law, Fayette Marcellais. Survived by wife, Tammy; stepdaughter, Jessica Marcellais; sisters, Desiree Doherty, Cynthia Doherty, and Joleen (Joe) Byrnes; sisters-in-law, Connie Marcellais and Annette Bazille; aunts, Rose Lamb and Irma DeCoteau; uncle, John DeCoteau; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation 4-8 PM Friday, September 27, 2013 at Mueller Memorial Parkway Chapel, 835 Johnson Parkway, St. Paul. There will be a Native American Service at 4 PM and Prayer Service at 7 PM, both at the funeral home. Interment at Union Cemetery, Maplewood.
