Violet has written poems from the heart all her life. Taking inspiration from life all around her, she has put together a beautiful book of poems to make you think and appreciate life.
Violet grew up in a rural area of Wisconsin. Her father enjoyed woodworking, creating furniture and toys. He would enjoy reading stories to all the kids. Her mother enjoyed taking care of the home and family. They all shared in chores around the home, even if the kids help wasn't very helpful. Violet's best friend was a German Sheperd named Rex. After Violet graduated from Mondovi High, she moved to St. Paul, where she had several fun jobs working at Rayette hair colors, 3M Scotchgard, the Dispatch Want Ads and then at Physicians Clinic which eventually led her to her caregiving career. Several years after she moved to St. Paul, her mom and dad, Effie and Delmer, both got jobs in St. Paul at St. Joseph Hospital and lived right across the street. They all bought a house together in Maplewood, where Violet raised her daughter Linda. Violet even lived in Hawaii for a few years, enjoying the beautiful sunsets. Eventually, she moved back to Minnesota and built a house with her daughter and son-in-law, Gene. In her retirement, she enjoys spending time with her pets, gardening, and writing an occasional poem.
