Violet Dean

Dean, Violet Wasmundt (nee Anderson) Age 90 of St. Paul Passed away peacefully September 21, 2021. Preceded in death by first husband, Marvin Wasmundt; second husband, Robert Dean; parents, Avard and Margaret Anderson; sister, Arlene Whipple; and stepson, Michael Dean. Violet was born in St. Paul, MN on September 3, 1931 and grew up in Hastings, MN. After graduating from high school, she moved back to St. Paul to attend business school and work. She married Marvin Wasmundt on October 6, 1951 and had four children. She volunteered at church and school, East Area Homebound Meals, and Conway Nursing Program. After Marvin died, she went to work at Norwest Bank. She later married Robert Dean on June 14, 1986. Violet is survived by her children, Gayle Wasmundt, Anita Wasmundt, Gary Wasmundt and Andrew Wasmundt (Jan Tacheny); six grandchildren, Michelle Beck (Yancey), KayLana Cable (Adam), Cassandra Wasmundt (Josh Haugen), Corey Wasmundt, Jake Wasmundt, and Cheyenne Wasmundt (Bryce Ausen); several great grandchildren; brother, Avard Robert Anderson (Barbara); two stepsons, Edward Dean (Kathy) and David Dean; and several step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, September 28th at 10:30 am at ST. PASCAL BAYLON CHURCH, 1757 Conway Street. Visitation Monday, September 27th from 4:00 pm- 7:00 pm with prayer service at 5:30 pm at MUELLER MEMORIAL, 835 Johnson Parkway, St. Paul, visitation also at church on Tuesday starting at 9:30 am. Interment Union Cemetery, Maplewood. Thank you to the nurses and staff at Lakeview Commons, Woodwinds Hospital and St. Therese Transitional Care. You all loved her smile and her sass. Memorial preferred to St. Pascal’s church or the Epilepsy Foundation.
