Passed away peacefully on 11/22/11 at the age of 85. WWII Navy veteran. He served proudly on the USS Radford, the most decorated Destroyer in the war. Preceded in death by wife, Elayne (nee Glass); infant children, Jayne and Mathew; siblings, Mary Schauer, Emmet and Fran. Survived by sons, Terry, Tim (Betsy), Pat (fiancée Robin); grandchildren, Heather and Patrick; and special friends, Jim and Nancy Lewis; sisters-in-law, Angie and Betty; and many nieces and nephews. Following his retirement from the City of St. Paul Fire Dept. Tom moved to his beloved lake home on Balm Lake, in northern MN, where he enjoyed the great outdoors for 30+ years. He loved hunting and fishing with his sons, daughter-in-law, grandson and lifelong friends. He had a great Irish wit and loved hearing and telling a good story. He was a man of great courage and honor who faced every challenge with dignity and quiet strength. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 AM Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at St. Pascal Baylon Catholic Church, 1757 Conway Street, St. Paul. Visitation 5-8 PM Tuesday at Mueller Memorial Parkway Chapel, 835 Johnson Parkway, St. Paul and one hour prior to the Mass at church on Wednesday.
