TERRANCE BENNETT "TERRY" ARNOLD

at Age 80 ~ Lifelong Resident of St. Paul
Terry was born in St. Paul on April 28, 1935 to Mary (nee Bennett) and William Arnold. He attended grade school at the Cathedral of St. Paul and later went to Mechanic Arts High School. Terry proudly enlisted in the United States Navy and served in Korea during the war. He was a paperboy for Marilynn Kane and they eventually began dating. He and Marilynn were married at the Church of the Assumption in downtown St. Paul on June 13, 1959. They raised their four daughters on the East Side and they attended church and school at Sacred Heart Parish. Terry was an electrician for diesel trains at Great Northern Railway (later Burlington Northern). When he was not working, Terry loved to bowl and golf. He umpired softball and baseball over 50 years and was inducted into the MSHSL Umpire Hall of Fame. He will be remembered for being quite the character and for being extremely outgoing. He was a dedicated member of Sacred Heart Parish, the White Bear Lake VFW, and the American Legion.
Terry passed away with his family by his side on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at United Hospital. He is preceded in death by his parents and his seven siblings. He will be dearly missed by his wife of over 56 years, Marilynn Ann Arnold; his four daughters, Pam (John) OâNeil of Maplewood, Cindy (Joe) Marso of Grand Marais, Cheryl (Rick) Murnane of North St. Paul, and Kim (Charlie) Mabel of Richfield; his seven grandchildren, Sam Marso, Bridgette Marso, Jayne Marso, Patrick OâNeil, Danny OâNeil, Jack Murnane, and Michael Murnane; his two sisters-in-law, Marilyn âRedâ Arnold of St. Paul and Carole Arnold of Maplewood; and many other family and friends.
There will be a gathering of friends and family from 3-6PM on Sunday, May 1, 2016 at Mueller Memorial, 835 Johnson Parkway, St. Paul. There will be a second visitation on Monday, May 2, 2016 from 10-11AM at the Church of St. Peter, 2600 Margaret Street N, North St. Paul, with the Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM. Military honors and committal prayers at St. Maryâs Cemetery of North St. Paul.
