In Memory of Steven- written by his daughter, Jennifer:
Steve Kusz was a great guy.
Pretty much everyone who has found out about my dadâs passing has responded with some version of that sentence.
âHe was a good man.â
âHe was a great guy.â
âWe sure did lose a good one.â
âHe was so kind and funny.â
âHe was such a nice guy.â
âHe was such a caring and patient person.â
âHe was so important to me and helped me so much.â
âHe was so welcoming to me, a very kind soul.â
âHe was such a great coworker and friend.â
âYour dad was a wonderful human being.â
âHe was a man of great character, wisdom and humor.â
âHe was a wonderful person with bottomless love.â
âHe was a wonderful man who brought so much joy.â
âHe was such a special guy.â
âI loved that man like a second father.â
âI couldnât have asked for a better father-in-law...he was a wonderful grandpa.â
âHe was an amazing dad and the greatest grandpa.â
And from me, âHe was the best person I knowâ
I know itâs customary to say good things about someone who has just passed, but like the beautiful woman who raised him, my dad truly was a great person. Funny, honest, patient, kind, generous, welcoming, down to earth and full of love for his family and friends (and his dog Otis of course). Full of love for life itself. He had such a strong presence and itâs hard to believe heâs gone.
He might not have shared his emotions a whole lot, but we all know he had them (he watched Hallmark movies, after all). He loved deeply and was well loved in return. Even though he was taken from us too soon, we were all so lucky to have had him for the time that we did. May he and his legacy carry on through us in our memories, in our hearts and in the way we live our lives.
He made the world a better place. He made me a better person. He was an awesome dad and was indeed the best person I know.
He truly was a great guy.
(And if he were here, he would tell yâall to watch Game of Thrones, because itâs a great show. The best.)
See you in heaven, dad. Until then, Iâll be cool, âcause thatâs the rule.
Love,
Niffer Skiffer Doo
