LIFE STORY Stanley “Stan” James Jacobson Stan was born on August 28, 1937 in Faribault, Minnesota. He was the son of Eldred and Helen Jacobson and was one of 13 children. When he was 7 years old, the family moved to Mille Lacs County and he attended Bock High School. He enlisted in the United States Army Reserve and then moved to the Twin Cities. He was married and had two children with his former wife. He was working one day at Miller Supply Incorporated in St. Paul, when a woman who was interviewing for a job caught his eye. This woman was Kathleen Dickey, he married her above a pizza parlor on December 15, 1967. Kathleen had four children so they combined the group and moved the family of eight into a home in Vadnais Heights. After 10 years in Vadnais Heights, the two moved to a home near downtown White Bear Lake. Stan had a variety of careers, from G&K Services to being a local realtor in the White Bear Lake community and worked for the White Bear Lake School District. Stan was a very humorous and fun loving guy, who couldn’t pass up telling a good joke. He was handy and loved to tinker on projects like the dice game and his book rest; really anything that would allow him to play with his table saw and tools. Stan enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and was very good at them, even the challenging ones at times came easy to him. But, his true passion was tractors. He had a nice collection of tractor books and magazines and wouldn’t pass up a day of driving to watch farmers plow fields or take a road trip to a tractor show. Although, he will be missed by all who knew him, we find comfort knowing he is with his love Kathleen once again. When Stan was not surrounded by his children or grandchildren, he and Kathy would be off on some type of adventure. They both loved road trips with a couple of his favorite places being Branson, Missouri, Iowa, or anywhere a tractor show was occurring. He and Kathy were very funny together, they loved to dance and wouldn’t pass up the chance to polka, even if that meant pulling the car over to the side of the road or in a parking lot and thoroughly embarrassing their kids. Preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Kathleen “Kathy” Jacobson. Survived by his children Rick (Adrian) and Randy (Markita); step-children and Carla (John) Reed, Nancy (Dan) McWherter, Robin (John) Carlson, and Tom (Deanna) Stower; 14 grandchildren, Cheryl Jacobson, Jeffrey Jacobson, Kristina Meyer, David (Lynnsey) Carlsen, Dean Carlsen, Mandie (Joe) Meehan, Faith (Donny) Tholkes, David (Sandie) Morisset, Jr., Michael (Kristi) Morisset, Nicole Pudifin, Samantha (Nik) Jensen, Austin Stower, Rosella Stower, and Andrew Stower; 23 great-grandchildren; 5 sisters and 2 brothers, and many other family and friends. Survived by children, Rick (Adrian) and Randy (Markita); step-children, Carla (John) Reed, Nancy (Dan) McWherter, Robin (John) Carlson, and Tom (Deanna) Stower; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren, 5 sisters and 2 brothers; and many other family and friends. Visitation 4-7PM on Wednesday (6/27) at Mueller Memorial, 4738 Bald Eagle Ave., White Bear Lake. Second visitation 11AM-12PM on Thursday (6/28) at the funeral home, with a service at 12PM. Interment at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Mahtomedi.
