Silvia Carrillo Carrillo De Lara

Silvia Carrillo De Lara was a great sister, an outstanding mother, loving grandmother and true friend. She opened her heart and home to everyone. Those who knew her admired her strength and zesty personality. For that she will be missed. Silvia is survived by five children, Mayra Jaques, Alejandro Lara, Brenda Guadalupe Lara, Jose Fermin Lara and Andres Lara and seven grandchildren, Thomas, Andres, Adrian, Amaris, Maricella, Xitlaly, and Jozelyn. Silvia’s children meant the world to her. When her children were young, she would have supper prepared with fresh homemade flour tortillas for them when they arrived from school. As they got older she taught them the way around the kitchen. The family would gather and cook together often, as the two youngest siblings would sneak in and out of the kitchen for snacks while playing video games. Silvia started her battle with metastatic breast cancer in 2011. She remained strong through two rounds of chemotherapy and a two week session of radiation therapy. She continued the fight for her children and grandchildren. Though she may have been in pain, she remained the zesty mom everyone knew and loved.
