Sheila departed this world on July 30, 2024, at the age of 76 after a courageous two-year battle with cancer. She passed away at home with family at her side. Sheila was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend, born on May 29, 1948, to Margaret (nee Osman) and Leslie Sullivan. While at Harding High School, she met the love of her life, Dan Trumble, and they were married on May 25, 1973. They eventually moved from the East Side of St. Paul to White Bear Lake where they raised their two children, Rick & Katie, on Bald Eagle Lake. Her family was her greatest joy, and they will always cherish the love she gave and memories she created.
Throughout her career, she wore many hats including nursing, running an in-home daycare, business ownership and she concluded her career as a Senior Rater with Berkley Risk. Sheila had a passion for the Minnesota Twins, NCIS, shopping and everything to do with Christmas. Travel wasn't a priority unless the destination was Las Vegas, then she was always a yes. She also enjoyed her trips to the local casinos and Sunday afternoons she could be found at the Legion playing bingo. She especially enjoyed it when family gathered for traditions. Whatever the celebration, we could count on at least one full dessert per person. Her home was always open, a place where everyone felt welcome, loved and left with a full belly (and leftovers).
Sheila is preceded in death by her loving husband, Dan Trumble; her father, Leslie Sullivan; her mother Margaret (nee Osman) Sullivan; sisters Teddie Bordsen and Sally Chisolm; brothers Terry Sullivan and Mike Sullivan. Sheila will be dearly missed by her children Rick (Katie) Trumble of St. Paul, Katie (Jeremiah) Yernberg of Chisago City; her sister Pattie (Dave) Johnsen of Forest Lake as well as many other family and friends. We owe a special thank you to her cousin, Mary Lou Miller, whose generous help allowed Sheila to achieve her wish of staying at home. Sheila's kindness, strength, and spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion and dedication to those she held dear.
A memorial service to celebrate Sheila's life will be held on Saturday, August 3rd at Mueller Memorial, 4738 Bald Eagle Avenue, White Bear Lake. Visitation from 10am-12pm, service at noon. There will be a private interment at Union Cemetery of Maplewood at a later date. In-lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, in honor of Sheila's long-standing commitment to the organization.
May her soul rest in peace, and may her memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved her.
