Mass of Christian Burial 10AM on Monday, February 25, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 840 East 6th St. in St. Paul. Visitation from 2-6PM on Sunday, February 24 at Mueller Memorial Parkway Chapel, 835 Johnson Pkwy in St. Paul and also one hour prior to Mass at church on Monday.
Passed away peacefully, from health complications, surrounded by family at age 79. Preceded in death by parents, Edward and Obelyn Knoblach; sister, Patricia Hermes; brother, Richard Knoblach; son-in-law, Bill Thompson. Survived by loving wife of 60 years, Carol; children, Russ Jr.; Mike (Cindy); Connie (Len) Burth; Judy Thompson; Mary Louise; Nancy (Steve) Davis; grandchildren, Rosela Moseng; Jody (Chris) Marchand; Becky (Kevin) Morency; Sarah Thompson (Pat Lauer); Jamie Thompson (Joshua Everson); Ashley Burth; Nick Burth; Brian Davis; Kim Davis; Jordan Davis; great-grandchildren, Isaac and Ian Marchand; Natalie, Charlie, Hannah and Zach Morency; Patrick and Tony Lauer; Madelyn Davis; brother, Edward; sister, Karen; and many other relatives and friends.
Russ was a life-long parishioner of Sacred Heart Church. He retired after 37 years from 3M and also worked for H & R Block. Russ was a devoted family man and loved to spend time at their cabin on Pelican Lake in the City of Breezy Point. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and going out to eat. Russ liked playing cards and teaching his children and grandchildren how to play penny poker, cribbage, 500, and 13. He also loved to travel with family and friends.
