RONALD G ACKERMAN LOVING HUSBAND, DAD AND GRANDPA AGE 75 OF COTTAGE GROVE Passed away April 10, 2011. He was born in Iron Mountain, Michigan on October 17, 1935, where he graduated in 1954. He then moved to Milwaukee, WI. In 1957 he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He was stationed at the Lake Mead Base in Las Vegas until 1960. He returned to Milwaukee and was employed at American Can Corp., where he manufactured beverage cans. He ventured into the restaurant business and owned several Italian Supper Clubs in Green Bay and Marinette, WI. In 1976, he went back to work for American National Can in St. Paul, MN, where he worked until he retired in 1996. He loved to go for long bike rides and walks, spend time with his Grandkids and liked to woodwork in his workshop, spending his spare time making birdhouses, clocks, and toys. He lived a life of service to his Faith, Family, Friends, and Work. He had close family ties throughout his lifetime especially with "The One True Love of His Life” - his wife, Laverne. He will be dearly missed by all who loved him. Preceded in death by parents, Ronald and Pauline; sisters, Antoinette Brault & Yvonne Sauld; and brother, Nicholas. Survived by wife of 45 years, Laverne; children, CDR Timothy A. (Laura) Ackerman DDS, MD, Thomas (Kathleen) & Stephen; grandchildren, Jeffrey, Christopher, Nicholas, Anthony, Thomas Jr., Samantha, Lillianna, Jacob, Alexandra & Megan; siblings: Donald (Virginia), Betty Massa, Pauline Bolan, Albert (Reta) & Stephen; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation 2 - 6 PM Sunday, April 17 at Mueller Memorial Parkway Chapel, 835 Johnson Pkwy at E. 7th St., and 1 hr prior to Mass at church. Mass of Christian Burial 11AM Monday, April 18 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 920 Holly Ave., St. Paul Park, MN. Interment at Newport Cemetery, Newport, MN. Memorials preferred to Lewy Body Dementia Assoc., Parkinson’s Disease Foundation or The American Heart Assoc. Funeral Services entrusted to Mueller Memorial Parkway Chapel (651) 774-9797
