Robert âBobâ Joseph Johnson, age 87, of White Bear Lake, MN formerly of Rosemount, MN and Milwaukee, WI passed on January 31, 2021. He was a first generation American born in Milwaukee, WI to Carl, who was from Oslo, Norway and Lena, who was from Stuttgart, Germany. He is survived by his ex-wife, Patricia Ripani; 4 children, Monica (Kit) Dennis of CA, Jackie M. Johnson of CO, Jennifer Johnson of WI, and Mike (Nikki) Johnson of White Bear Lake; 8 grandchildren, Caitlin, Jay, Leila, Mitchell, Elizabeth, Katarina, Austin, and Corinna; and brothers, Norman, Raymond, and Roger Johnson.
Bob graduated from Marquette University High School in Milwaukee in 1952 and went on to study photography at the Layton School of Art. Bob was in the Marines from 1950-1956, during which he served in the Korean War and was the circulation manager for the Marine Corps Gazette in Quantico, VA. He owned Camera Land, selling cameras and other sales related to photography. He moved to Minnesota in 1980. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion, and the Kiwanis Club. He loved photography and cameras, hunting, travel and adventure, playing cards (especially UNO), and reading. He had a good nature, was kind and friendly. He was known for being generous with a good sense of humor. He always had a twinkle in his eyes! He loved his family and God and had a very strong Christian faith. He will be greatly missed by his loved ones.
A public visitation will be held from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at Mueller Memorial of White Bear Lake, 4738 Bald Eagle Ave. Because of Covid-19 regulations, funeral mass is private and by family invitation only. Livestream information available on www.muellermemorial.com. Private interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials preferred to the family.
