Passed Away on December 19, 2017
Bob was born in St. Paul on November 24, 1934, the son of Jerome and Mary. He attended Adams Elementary School and graduated from Monroe High School. While younger, he was a hard worker who helped his dad in the landscaping business, worked at the corner grocery story, and set pins for the bowling alley in the basement of St. James Church. He went on to graduate from the University of Minnesota with an engineering degree. He worked for the Water Department of St. Paul for 35 years as a unit supervisor of engineering. Bob was in the National Guard for 6 years as a Batallion Sargent Major. Bob passed away after a long illness while at home. He was surrounded by his loved ones. He is preceded in death by his parents. He will be dearly missed by his wife of almost 60 years, Lois Cihlar (nee Fousek); children, Debbie (Jerry) Siedow, Mike (Peggy) Cihlar, Tom Cihlar, and Cheryl (Bob) Prigge; siblings, Carol Stoddard and Rick Cihlar; 14 grandchildren, Eric Siedow, Diane (Dave) Hansen, Melissa (Nate) Peterson, Laura (Jeff) Schlen, Daniel (Daela) Cihlar, Amy Cihlar, Emily Cihlar, Amanda Prigge, Curtis Prigge, Rebecca Prigge, Elle Cihlar, Jacob Cihlar, Kristy Cihlar, and Jackie Cihlar; 14 great-grandchildren; and other family and friends. Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at St. Patrickâs Catholic Church, 1095 Desoto Street, St. Paul, with a visitation from 9-10AM. Entombment will be private at Resurrection Cemetery in Mendota Heights. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.
