Richard Harrington

RICHARD JOSEPH HARRINGTON Age 82 of White Bear Lake, died on Friday, April 8, 2016. Richard’s family is so thankful that he is free of his suffering here, and God has opened the door for him to start the next part of his adventure. All who knew him well, will miss his wonderful sense of humor. Especially his family; his wife , Mary, ; son , John (Irina) Harrington; daughter , Kathy (Kevin) Tidemand; grandsons, Chris (Sarah) Harrington, Erik and Kyle (Meghan Hooks) Tidemand; great-grandsons, Holland and Edison Harrington; brother, Howard; and sister, Shirley Allen. He was born in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, to Howard Harrington and Leona Panyard. He grew up in the Corning-Elmira area of New York state and had great memories of high school sports (with headlines), friends, swing band (yearbook named him the next Gene Krupa on the drums), and the Clarkson College, School of Engineering; his years as a pilot in the Air Force, marriage to Mary (61 years on April 2, 2016) and raising two great kids ; lifetime member of the VFW, an electronics engineering career that culminated in working for Medtronic, Inc. in the neurological division, developing medical electronic devices to improve the quality of life for people. He appreciated and enjoyed his job and all his good friends and coworkers. He retired after 24 years, but unfortunately, had a stroke in 2003. Now, thanks be to God, he has his freedom back. Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30AM on Friday, April 15, 2016 at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church, 4741 Bald Eagle Ave., White Bear Lake with visitation one hour prior to Mass at church.
