Passed away peacefully surrounded by family on August 8th, 2016
Dick possessed a great sense of humor, and a patient easy manner in all he did. He loved the game of golf, and playing cards, especially poker. Dickâs greatest love was his wife Dorothy and his family. Born in St. Paul December 16, 1924, Dick graduated from Central HS in 1944 entering the US Army Air Corps Serving as a Flight Officer the same year. Dick began his career at 3M in 1947 and retired 44 years later in 1990. Dorothy and Dick were married August 7th 1948. Preceded in death by his spouse of 64 years, Dorothy Anne (Cunningham); brother, William Dunnigan; sister, Jean Phelan; and four infant children. Survived by children, Dick (Norma) Dunnigan Jr., Pat (Jennie) Dunnigan, Dennis (Lisa) Dunnigan; Sean (Sue) Dunnigan; Bridget (Tim) Schuett; grandchildren, Ryan and Molly Dunnigan; Michael (Jessie), Brian, David and Daniel Dunnigan; Kevin (Marcela), Colleen and Kelly Dunnigan; Timothy, Claire, and Joseph Dunnigan; Mattie, Logan and Kailee Baumann, Carter, Molly, and Logan Schuett; sister, Sally Bernard; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am Monday August 15, 2016 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3878 Highland, White Bear Lake. Visitation 4 -6 pm Sunday at Mueller Lake Mortuary, 4738 Bald Eagle Ave, and also one hour prior to the Mass on Monday at the Church. Private Family Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN. In Lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to the American Macular Degeneration Foundation.
