Died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on April 1st, 2012. Preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Agnes; sisters, Mary Rose and Agnes. Survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Judy; children, Charlie, Teriza (Rick) Kuchera, Ray (Stacie), Jim (Angel); grandchildren, Taylor, Derick and Nick Kuchera, Kaileigh, Hannah and Jack Vennewitz; sister, Catherine Coleman; brother, Joe (Lois); and by many nieces and nephews. Graduated from the University of St. Thomas in 1951 and proudly served in the Korean War from 1952-1953, where he earned a Bronze Star. Ray was the Golf Professional at North Oaks Golf Club for 31 years, President of the Minnesota PGA in 1973 and 1974, PGA Golf Professional of the year- MN Section in 1968 and 1990, and inducted into the MN PGA Golf Hall of Fame in 2002. Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at Saint Pius X Catholic Church, 3878 Highland Avenue, White Bear Lake. A gathering for family and friends will be held from 4-8 PM Monday at the CHURCH and from 10 AM until the time of the Mass on Tuesday at the church. Private family interment, Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis. At Ray’s request, golf attire is preferred at the visitation. The family would like to give a special thanks to The Pillars Hospice Home and HealthEast Hospice Care for the care and generosity they provided to Ray and the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Tony Patz Memorial Scholarship Fund of North Oaks, The Pillars Hospice Home or to the family.
