Raymond George Trembley

Born 9/2/1940 in St. Paul to Raymond F. and Delores (Bougie) Trembley. Died peacefully 2/15/2025 in St. Paul with his wife and daughter at his bedside. He had suffered and endured the indignities that accompanied his diagnosis of Parkinsons. He was a Westsider, graduating from Humbolt H.S. in 1959. A talented athlete, he excelled in football. Ray attended the U of M, then enlisted in the U.S. Navy with an honorable discharge in 1964, returning to St. Paul. He and the love of his life, Mary Ann Rafferty, married in Sept. of 1963. They had raised a family of five children living in St. Paul, eventually making their home in Stillwater, MN and enjoyed a busy life. Ray worked as lithographer in the printing trade for many years, retiring in 2007. After retiring, he worked for a wonderful company that produced golf equipment, a game he so enjoyed playing. Raymond & Mary Ann enjoyed time spent together at the North Shore over the years. Ray enjoyed bowling, playing horseshoes, and softball in his earlier years. In later years, he loved playing trivia games with Joe and watching football games on TV.

Preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law, Charles & Helen (Youngquist) Rafferty; daughter, Susan Marie (Trembley) Scanlon; son, Joseph Charles Trembley; sister, Joyce Trembley. Survived by his wife, Mary Ann (Rafferty) Trembley; sister, Julia (Hank) Blissenbach; sons, Michael, Christopher (Nancy); daughter, Sara (Jed) Heimendinger; son-in-law, Craig Scanlon; 5 grandchildren: Candace Trembley, Chas (Melissa) Trembley, Hannah Trembley (Jazeya), Eric (Kathryn) Heimendinger, and Emily Heimendinger (Dalton); 7 great grandchildren, Andrew Trembley, Justin Trembley-Smith, Michelle Smith, Logan Trembley, Sabrina Trembley, Isabella Jackson, and Henry Heimendinger; and many other beloved relatives and friends. Ray and Mary Ann have legal guardianship over their great grandchildren, Andrew, Justin, and Michelle and took pride & pleasure in raising them. A Memorial Gathering is being planned in the Spring. Memorials preferred to family. Special thanks to those who gave Ray such compassionate care in his final days.
