Passed away peacefully at home on March 29, 2022. Phyllis grew up in Centuria, WI; received a BS in Education from U of WI, River Falls; and lived a full, beautiful life in White Bear Lake with her husband and daughter. A retired elementary school teacher, she touched the lives of hundreds of students. Generous with both her attention and baked goods, she set an example for friends and family of how to ‘show up’ and love well. She is preceded in death by her devoted husband of 50 years, James; her parents, Wilfred and Ellen Anderson; her brothers, LeRoy, Wesley, James, and Norman. She will be deeply missed by her loving daughter, Liz Bastian (Ross Stangler) and granddog, Angelo; sisters-in-law Carla Anderson and Olivia Bastian; many nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, and many, many best friends. Phyllis will be laid to rest at St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery. Celebration of life at a future date to be announced. Memorials are preferred to Alpha Delta Kappa, an organization empowering women educators to advance inclusion, educational excellence and world understanding.
