⢠He was not only a history and social studies teacher but also coached the Harding High School tennis and B Team hockey teams at different points in his career
⢠He took his family on summer RV adventures throughout Mexico, Canada, and the United States
⢠He devoured books on many topics, but his encyclopedic knowledge didnât prevent him from being so electronically challenged that he could not stop his son from setting his watch alarm to go off at awkward moments
⢠He was so fond of obscure facts that he became the original âgoogleâ for the family
⢠He loved animals of all kinds, especially his kidsâ animal companions
⢠He loved to canoe, kayak, and bike and fixed up many bicycles just to gift them to other people
⢠He turned splitting firewood into both a leisure passion and another opportunity to share with others
⢠His occasional experiments in cooking didnât always go as planned, but he made a mean pancake breakfast
⢠He had a passion for classical music, operas, and folk music and enjoyed singing along with all of them
⢠He was skilled on the piano and often belted out old hymns while he played
⢠He collected pottery and loved going to art shows to buy gifts for his family
⢠He was an accomplished wood worker â he made an inlaid chess board, slate-top tables, and other meticulously crafted household objects
⢠He designed beautiful handmade jewelry for his wife that she wears to this day
⢠He patiently shared his skills and interests with Sue & Rick, who will carry on his legacy
⢠He shared his adventures and love with Mary for 62 years, who will keep safe their memory
