Patrick âP.T.â Glenn Terry
Pat was born on March 15, 1952 in North St. Paul, Minnesota, the middle son of Dorothy (nee Price) and James Terry. He was raised in North St. Paul until the family moved to White Bear Lake when he was 12 years old. He graduated from White Bear Lake High School and went on to work as a lineman for Northwestern Bell Phone Company (later US West, Qwest, and CenturyLink). At work, he met the love of his life, Louise Schwartz and the two were married on April 8, 1983 at a small country church in Afton. They moved to Maplewood where they raised their family.
When he was not working, he was outdoors doing activities. He was always moving, keeping busy, and he never sat down. He could be described perfectly as a âguys guyâ because he was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to fish from his boat, go up to the cabin in Grand Marais, go to the hunting shack in Two Harbors, go snowmobiling anywhere he could, and just spend time doing outdoor activities. He loved to go up north Lake Superior, Lake of the Woods, and even Michigan when possible. When they were not at the cabin, he spent his time working on the flowers and garden at home. He was a very passionate about sports and was a tried and true Minnesota Vikings fan. He loved all the Minnesota teams, the Twins, the Gophers, the Wild, and even the Timberwolves if there were no other teams playing. He was very active, he golfed when he was younger and he played on a softball team into his 50âs. He even became certified in underwater diving.
More than anything, his personality will be missed by all who knew him. Pat was a very kind man and never said a bad word about anyone. He was outgoing, polite, and could talk to anyone. He was his kidsâ hero and was always a huge role model in showing them right from wrong.
After a battle with Leukemia, Pat passed away peacefully at his home on September 5, 2016 while surrounded by his loving family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and James Terry; and his brother, Michael Terry. He will be dearly missed by his wife of over 33 years, Louise Terry of Maplewood; his daughter, Lindsey (Michael) Feesl of Eden Prairie; his son, Kyle Terry of Albertville; his sister, Eileen Fewer of Gem Lake; his niece and nephew (who were like his own children), Bonnie (Tom) Martin of White Bear Lake and Brian Fewer of Maplewood; and many other family and friends. The family would like to especially thank all of Patâs best friends because they were the best friends a guy could have.
There will be a gathering of friends and family from 1:00-4:00 PM on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Mueller Memorial, 4738 Bald Eagle Ave., White Bear Lake.
After being diagnosed with Leukemia, Pat was in the care of the University of Minnesota for over a year and half. The care given to Pat and his family by the staff there was amazing and deeply appreciated. It is because of this care that the family would prefer memorials sent to the Minnesota Masonic charities (MMC) and the University of Minnesota Foundation. These donations will help to continue research towards finding a cure for the cancer that took Patrick Terry's life.
To make donations you can go directly to the website Here . Checks may also be written to the Minnesota Masonic Charities (MMC). Don't forget to place Pat's name in the memo. The family will collect the checks and give them to the foundation.
