Patricia (Patti) Ann Wilde Boland

Boland, Patricia Ann nee Wilde Age 82 of St. Paul died Saturday, August 13, 2011 after a long illness from Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. Patricia was born February 7, 1929 in Mason City, Iowa, daughter of Cecil J. and Anna Marie (Ryan) Wilde. She was raised in Stillwater, Minnesota and graduated from Stillwater High School in 1947. Patti worked at the Public Library in Cedar Rapids, Iowa prior to her marriage to Joseph W. Boland in 1954 at the Immaculate Conception Parish. After the marriage they moved to St Paul, Minnesota where she worked at a number of libraries in the St. Paul Library System for 10 years or more. She also worked for the State Welfare Department on University Ave for a period of time. She was very active in the Women’s Guild of the St. Thomas the Apostle for numerous years, serving as president of the Guild for one term. Patricia and her husband after living in St Paul 46 years, moved to Ft Myers Beach, Florida in 2000. Patricia became the photographer for the Women’s Guild at the Ascension Catholic Church there until 2007 and had to give it up when she broke her left femur. They sold their condo and returned to St Paul, Minnesota in April, 2011. Patti is survived by her husband, Joseph W. Boland, her adopted daughter Marina (Victor) Perez of St Paul and her adopted son Michael Boland from Minneapolis. She is also survived by five grandchildren; Erin Brennan, Quetzy (Paul) Hermandez, Sean Brennan, Colleen Brennan and Joshua Och and one great grandchild Alexis Meadows. She is also survived by her sister, Terry (Wilde) Canfield, sister-in-law, Kaaren Wilde & numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents (Cecil and Anna (Ryan) Wilde), and two brothers; Lawrence Joseph and Jerome Joseph Wilde. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at St Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church , 2119 Stillwater Ave. at Nokomis St., St Paul, with visitation 1 hr prior to Mass at church. A luncheon reception will directly follow the Mass. Patricia will be cremated and her ashes will be buried at a later date in an Elkader, Iowa. Memorials preferred.
