Norman James Falk passed away peacefully at the age of 88 on January 30, 2025 after a fall that broke his hip and ongoing dementia. He was born to Jacob and Dorothy (Hulzebos) Falk on January 7, 1937 in Mountain Lake, Minnesota. During high school, he was proud to be a member of FFA and a barbershop quartet that competed at nationals. After graduation, he attended Mankato State University for a degree in education. He went on to teach at Redwood Falls High School for seven years where he enjoyed being a wrestling coach. He married Vickie McBroom and throughout their 63 years of marriage they had four children; one son and a daughter-in-law, three daughters and three sons-in-laws, five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was a devoted educator and friend to many, known for his unwavering love of life and his practical jokes. Despite facing abandonment from some corners of his life, Norman remained resilient and full of spirit, leaving behind an unforgettable legacy through the memories he created with those who truly knew him. He spent much of his life imparting wisdom to others as a teacher in White Bear Lake High School for 23 years in language and communications. His impact on his students and colleagues was profound, always striving to make a difference in their lives, whether through education or encouragement. He spent his summers mowing for Ramsey County and eventually working in the parts room after retirement. He was passionate about many things. Whether it was teeing off on the golf course or debating the best golf grip that he changed often. He enjoyed watching Gopher football and basketball games. He also had a friendly competition with his son-in-law, Neal, particularly around March Madness. Their $5 bets were always accompanied by good-natured ribbing. He enjoyed the simple things like having people guess the price of random things for a prize of lottery tickets to Saturday morning doughnuts and Snicker bars at the Stacy gas station. He'd spend hours watching the birds or fighting off the squirrels. He loved poetry and his collection of hats, especially those bought on travels by his daughter Shannon and granddaughter Noelle. Norman spent his final months at Cerenity Care Center in White Bear Lake enjoying the visits by his daughter and her family and his sister Donna Harder. Rest in peace, Dad. May all your drives find fairways and may the ball travel far. He is preceded in death by his parents Jacob and Dorothy Falk, brother-in-law Edward Harder, step-father Rudy Junker, brother Walter Falk and his daughter Cheryl Westlund.
