Morris (Moe) Johnson

Morris "Moe" Johnson Age 86 of St. Paul Retired ELCA Pastor Served in Rochester, Brainerd and Virginia, Minnesota and was the Stewardship Consultant for 3 synods in Iowa. Preceded in death by parents Marius & Margit Johnson, a sister Marie Overvold and granddaughter Karin Elizabeth Talsness. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Marjorie and 3 children: Cheri Beth (Robert) Talsness of Hudson, WI; Kristin Hella of Golden Valley and Craig Morris Hella Johnson (Philip Overbaugh) of Austin, TX. His grandchildren: Jason (Alexandra) Talsness, Christopher Talsness, Stephen (Maggie) Talsness, Jeffrey (Dana) Talsness, Kelsey (Nate) Olson, Joseph Olson and great grandchildren, Peter Talsness, Ana Talsness, Helena Talsness, and Bjorn Talsness. Also survived by a sister Lillian Ingersoll of SC. Moe's love of life, love for his family and for those he served was apparent by all. His personal ministry inspired many to go into the ministry. Moe was a devoted advocate for the full inclusion of the LBGT community in the church. Visitation at MUELLER MEMORIAL PARKWAY CHAPEL, 835 Johnson Pkwy @ E 7th St. MONDAY from 5-7 PM and 1 hour prior to service at church. Funeral service Tuesday at 2 PM at Lutheran Church of Peace, 47 Century Ave. S., Maplewood. Interment Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Memorials preferred to ELCA World Hunger, Conspirare (www.conspirare.org), and Augsburg College.
