Michael John "Borj" Boerjan

Michael John Boerjan Age 50 of Birchwood Formerly of Saint Paul Mike (Borj) was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on April 21, 1967. He was one of three children to Peggy (nee Conrad) and Fran Boerjan. He graduated from Harding High School in St. Paul and went on to attend the University of Minnesota. His greatest joy was Jamey, his daughter and he was very proud of her. In 1997, Mike started as a postal carrier for the United States Postal Service out of the Riverview station. For many years, he was very active in the American Postal Worker Union (APWU). When he was not working, Mike could be found cheering for his favorite sports teams. He loved sports. In his younger years, he played different sports, football, hockey, and baseball. He was particularly fond of the Minnesota Wild and proud of being a season ticket holder. Everyone who knew Mike could tell you that he was a social, friendly, and talkative guy. There was no filter with Mike, anything he had on his mind would come out of his mouth. It was this outgoing personality that gave him the confidence to talk to Denise West the first time they met. They began dating 10 years ago and seldom spent time apart. Mike enjoyed getting out and about especially attending comedy shows and concerts. If there was a free weekend, he would take Denise and friends down to Treasure Island to play slots or cards. He loved hosting people and was a phenomenal grill master. Above all else, his kids, grandkids and family were the world to him. He was an extremely funny and loving guy who will be missed by all who knew him. As his best bud Gar put it - he was like an M&M, hard on the outside and soft on the inside Boerjan Michael J. “Borj” Age 50 Of Birchwood Mike passed away unexpectedly at his home, on the evening of October 23, 2017. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Gene and Margaret Conrad; and his uncle, Jim Conrad. Will be dearly missed by his parents, Fran and Peggy Boerjan of Little Canada; his love and significant other, Denise West (nee Wegscheider) of Birchwood; his daughter, Jamey Marie Boerjan of Minneapolis; his brother, Jim (Mary) Boerjan of Woodbury; his sister, Peggie (Blake) Zimmerman of Inver Grove Heights; close family, Tara, Michael, Zack, Jake, Skylar, and Brody; Denise's children, Renee (Jeremy) Kim of St. Paul and Melissa (Zach) Hansmann of Hugo; grandchildren (who lovingly called him “Boppy”), Jayce, Jovie, Ashlynn, and Maverick; and many other family and friends. Mass of Christian Burial, Saturday, October 28th at 10:00 am at CHURCH OF ST. MARY, 261 East 8th Street, St. Paul. Private interment. Visitation Friday (TODAY) from 3-7:00 pm at MUELLER MEMORIAL, 835 Johnson Parkway, St. Paul and from one half hour before the Mass at church. Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers to donors choice.
