Mia Roth, of St. Paul, MN, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2024, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born on March 16, 1952 in Busan, Korea, Mia's life took an unexpected turn when she met Robert, her devoted husband, during his military service in Korea. Their love story led her to the United States, where she embraced a life filled with new adventures, enriched by the joy of raising their son, Thomas.
Mia's life is a testament to love and resilience. Her dedication to her faith community at the Minneapolis Korean Church, her passion for crocheting, and her love for nature walks with Bob brought her peace and happiness and reflected her deep appreciation of life's simple pleasures.
Mia is preceded in death by her parents Sung Il Hong and Mun Soon Hong; and infant grandsons, Aiden and Jeremiah. Her memory is cherished by her surviving family, including her husband Robert; son Thomas (Jolene); grandchildren Gavin, Gabe, Dominic, and Simone; and sisters Hong Soon He and Pil Cha.
Despite the challenges she faced, including her battle with cancer, Mia's spirit remained unyielding and inspired those around her. Known for her warm smile, generous heart, and the love she shared for her family and friends, Mia's legacy is one of kindness, compassion and strength. Mia's presence will be deeply missed, but her influence and the love she imparted will forever remain in the hearts of her loved ones.
A memorial service will be held on December 6, 2024, at 2 PM at Mueller Memorial Funeral Home in St. Paul. Visitation 1 hour prior to service.
