Preceded in death by wife, Lillian (nee Cardinal); and parents, Dallas and Helen (nee Wegner). Merton was loved and will be missed by children, Michelle, Melissa (Michael) Nelson, and Merton W.; and grandchildren, Tracey, Megan, Daniel, and Katelyn. He retired after 33 years from 3M. He was an Army Veteran.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at Grace Lutheran Church, 1730 Old Hudson Rd, St Paul, with visitation an hour prior. Burial at Fort Snelling National Cemetery on Thursday, July 21, 2022 at 11:30 AM.
