MARY LOU TREBIANI
Mary Lou Trebiani, was born in St. Paul, to her Italian parents, Nazareno and Mary Trebiani on May 6, 1944. She was the youngest of three children, having an older brother and sister, Roland Trebiani and Joan Cain. Mary Lou graduated from St. Joe's Academy High School on the east side of St. Paul. She retired from the Minnesota Department of Revenue 20 plus years ago where she worked in the office and traveled throughout the state to train volunteers about the new tax laws in a program called, "Outreach". Sometime later, she worked part-time at the 3M Gift Shop. Her family would often tease her when she purchased items at the gift shop by saying, "she never got paid because she spent it all at the gift shop" and she would chuckle, as she often did when her nephews and niece would tease her. She was a great sport.
Mary Lou had many outside interests. As a devoted Catholic, she sponsored and taught many future Catholics through the RCIA program. She volunteered her time for an organization called The Drawer and Breast Cancer organization. She joined the Choir at the Assumption Church, which she loved, and especially, enjoyed singing during the Christmas holiday season.
Mary Lou loved to travel and was fortunate enough to make her way to Jamaica, Hawaii, Italy and Europe, which was part of a choir trip through the church. She enjoyed going to Las Vegas with her friends, Linda and Karen, to gamble and just have fun! She went on many Mystery Bus Trips with them as well. She visited Italy twice with her sister where they met her mother's family in San Benedetto, Italy and conversed with them through email and letters. She loved to cook and for many years, on Christmas Eve; she, her mother and sister made the annual spaghetti dinner feast. The family looked forward to it every year. After her mother's passing, her sister, Joan and her would spend a month prepping for this meal. Each year, it was spectacular, of which they put their heart and soul into ensuring her family enjoyed this feast. In retrospect, it was more about the family gathering along with the food, that was one of her and her sister's greatest joy.
Mary Lou was a devoted sister to Joan and sometimes were referred to as Chip & Dale. She loved her brother, Roland, very much and he would often tease her, but again, she would chuckle. She was a daddy's girl, "daddy" as she would refer to him often when she spoke of him. Her mother, lived with Mary Lou for many years after her father passed away. Mary Lou was a special and loving Aunt to her many nieces and nephews. She loved her pets as well, her dogs Choo-Choo, Stubby, Muffin and Lilly, her cat. Mary Lou's heart is large and full of love. She also loved in this order, Ricky Nelson, George Clooney and Steve McQueen, not a bad trio.
Mary Lou is preceded in death by her parents, Nazareno and Mary Trebiani, her brother, Roland (Marie), her sister, Joan Cain (John), and niece, Rosalind Cappelletti (Marty). She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Michael Trebiani (Sherri) from Chicago, Tom Cain (Mary), Joe Cain (Julie), Michelle Langevin (Jeff) and Steve Trebiani (Kathy) from Chicago and Matt Cain (Amanda). She has 13 great nieces and nephews and 13 great, great nieces and nephews.
