Mary Soucheray

Mary Helen Soucheray, 90, of Saint Paul and Mahtomedi, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 29 surrounded by her family. She is survived by her seven adoring children and their spouses: Joe, (Jennifer), Mary Rita Kurtz (Roger), John (Kate), Judy Holton (Tom), Alisan Engle (Mike), Terry Strauss (Bob) and Paul (Jen). She is also survived by 22 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. Mary Helen was preceded in death by her husband J. Henry "Bud," and her siblings John, Bob, Jimmy, Paul, Rita and Alice. She lived a faith-filled life as a devoted wife, mom, grandmother and great-grandmother. She never wanted to miss a party, and even at age 90 still called all her kids to make sure everyone was inside if there was a storm brewing anywhere in the five-state area. Her life revolved around her love of the Catholic church, her family, the Minnesota Twins, and politics -- although not necessarily in that order. We will gather with friends at family at Lake Mortuary in White Bear Lake on Monday from 4p-8p and celebrate her funeral at St. Jude of the Lake in Mahtomedi on Tuesday at 11am. Memorials preferred to The Little Sisters of the Poor.
