Mary Holmes (nee Lynch)

Age 88 of Maplewood

Passed away on November 16, 2024. Mary grew up in Duluth, MN graduating from East High School. She graduated from UMD with a degree in social work. Mary spent much of her time volunteering. She was a volunteer at Minneapolis Children's Theater, Minneapolis Children's Hospital, Meals on Wheels, and The League of Catholic Women. Mary was a longtime member of Holy Redeemer Church and the Church of St. Peter, volunteering her time there as well. Mary enjoyed skiing and curling, but her biggest passion was cooking. You could always find her in the kitchen. She loved to try new recipes and add new twists to old recipes. Mary loved her family, especially her dear grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, Humphrey & Verley Lynch. Survived by husband, Drake Holmes; children Geoff (Ann) Holmes, Pat (Kasmira) Holmes, Tim (Jennifer) Holmes, and Cindy Stacy; grandchildren, Nathaniel, Christian, Mitchell, Jessica, Tally, and Campbell; great-grandchildren, Phoenix and Layla; numerous nieces & nephews, other relatives, and friends. FUNERAL MASS 11am Thursday, November 21, at Church of St. Peter, 2600 Margaret St. N., North St. Paul, with visitation one hour prior at the church with a lunch and private burial to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Church of St. Peter.
