Marge was born in Malung Township, Minnesota on October 13, 1931 to Olga (Rodegaard) and Aron Danielson. She attended grade school in Malung and graduated from Oak Grove Lutheran High School in Fargo. She moved to the Twin Cities to pursue her nursing training at Lutheran Deaconess Hospital. She met the love of her life, Morris âMoeâ Johnson, through mutual friends and they immediately began dating. The two were married at Pontoppidan Lutheran Church in Fargo on August 29, 1952. Moe was a pastor within the Lutheran Church (ELCA) and his calling took them many places throughout the Midwest. They lived in Virginia, MN for over 17 years and Marge worked at the clinic in town for over 14 years. They also lived in Waverly, Iowa where Moe worked as a Regional Stewardship Director. Being a pastorâs wife was a lot of work on its own but Marge still managed to find time to be charitable and help those in need. Her favorite moments of giving were when she hosted Vietnamese families and Namibian college students. While in Iowa, she was involved with Bread for the World and setting up a cardiac clinic at the local hospital. Up north, she was a part of a group called âFISHâ that helped to drive people to appointments or other places they needed to get to Marge was always trying to help others or be involved in the community. She was also singer within most of the choirs of the churches they attended and loved to host people for dinner parties. Above all else, God and her family were the center of her life.
