MARILYNN ANN ARNOLD (nee Kane)
âMarnieâ
Passed Away on May 21, 2016
at Age 80 ~ Lifelong Resident of St. Paul
Marilynn was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on February 29, 1936 to Helen (nee Seiler) and Lawrence Kane. She graduated from St. Agnes Catholic High School in St. Paul and later helped with the committee for the class reunions through Assumption. Marilynnâs paperboy was Terrance Arnold and he went overseas to serve in the United States Navy. Upon his arrival back home to Minnesota, they met at a party and began dating. They were married on June 13, 1959 at the Assumption Catholic Church in downtown St. Paul. They raised their four daughters on the East Side and they sent them to Sacred Heart Catholic Schools. Marilynn held a variety of jobs throughout her life but she was most proud of her time at Cub Foods Bakery. When she was not working or caring for her daughters, Marilynn was most oftentimes sewing, quilting, and tending her flower gardens. She loved to watch her grandchildren and play board games with them. She enjoyed traveling with Terrance and they were able to take a trip to Ireland and Canada. They also took a cruise to the St. Thomas area and train trips to Glacier National Park and Seattle. She will be remembered for her sweet and quiet demeanor, the love she showed her family, and her caring spirit.
Marilynn passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2016. She is preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Lawrence Kane; her husband of over 56 years, Terrance Arnold; and her sister, Joan (Merlyn) Hecklinger. She will be dearly missed by her four daughters, Pam (John) OâNeil of Maplewood, Cindy (Joe) Marso of Grand Marais, Cheryl (Rick) Murnane of North St. Paul, and Kim (Charlie) Mabel of Richfield; her seven grandchildren, Sam Marso, Bridgette Marso, Jayne Marso, Patrick OâNeil, Danny OâNeil, Jack Murnane, and Michael Murnane; her siblings, Bob (Marilyn âChrisâ) Kane, Jeanne (Denny) Lunzer, and Pat (Alexandra) Kane; and many other family and friends.
