Moeller, Margaret M.
Margaret (Samb) Moeller, 82, St. Paul, passed away, surrounded by her loving family, under the care of Our Lady of Peace Hospice at Ramsey County Care Center on Thursday, September 19, 2019.
Margaret was born July 31, 1937, in La Crosse, WI, daughter of late Roy and Mary (Mormann) Samb. She attended St. Thomas More and Aquinas High School in La Crosse. On February 5, 1966, Margaret married John Moeller. John was a devoted husband who took excellent care of Margaret both at home and at the care center in her final years. John survives Margaret.
Margaret was a very active parishioner with Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. She was in the funeral choir, an adoration chapel adorer and decorated the church for many occasions. Margaret and John loved to dance polkas/waltzes together. They were avid bikers and walkers. They belonged to the Twin Cities Bike Club and St. Paul Park and Rec. Senior Walking Club. Margaret loved playing volleyball with her friends until she was in her 70s. Margaret enjoyed baking especially at Christmas and taking pictures of her friends and family.
Survivors include her son, Greg (Kim) Moeller and her granddaughter, Macy, Appleton, Wisconsin. Sister, Karen (Bud) Lambert Ames; brothers, Bruce (Ruth), Blaine (Linda), and Brent (Laura) Samb. She is further survived by her sisters-in-law Ramona Pavel, Rosemary Johnston, and Kay Buckwald and brother-in-law Gary (Susana) Moeller. Special family friends, Charlie and Nora Super. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her brother Bryan Samb; her mother and father-in-law Carl and Eleanore Moeller; sisters-in-law Patricia Casey, Alice Moeller and Mary Jane Greising; and her brothers-in-law Carl Moeller and Roger Ames.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 4:00 - 7:00 pm at Mueller Memorial, 835 Johnson Parkway, St. Paul, MN 55106. An additional visitation will be held at the church one hour before the Mass on Thursday.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, September 26 at 11:00 am at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 2119 Stillwater Avenue East, St. Paul, MN 55119.
The family wishes to extend sincere appreciation to Our Lady of Peace Hospice particularly Lynette, Kelly and Alicia; as well as the staff and residents of Ramsey County Care Center for all their kind and compassionate care given to Margaret. We would also like to extend a thank you to the Salvation Army Day Program for their support for Margaret and John for the past few years. In addition, a special thanks to Charlie Super for his support for the Moeller family during this difficult time.
