MARCIA MARTHA CHARBONNEAU
"Marcie" (nee TOMCZAK)
Marcie was born on June 29, 1917 in Sturgeon Lake, Minnesota and was raised in the area. As the second of eleven children, and being a farm girl, she was a hard worker. She survived the 1918 forest fire that took other members of her family. In 1937, Marcie traveled to San Francisco, met and married Jules M. Quero, a NYC native. He was a newspaper man and they lived in New York City, Boston, and Tallahassee with his job. Returning to San Francisco, Marcie worked building battleships in the harbor during WWII. Widowed in 1951, Marcie returned to MN with three young children, met and married Armand J. Charbonneau, a WWII veteran, a wonderful, loving, and God fearing man. Together, they worked side by side as owners and operators in the bar and restaurant business. After retirement, they bought a motorhome and traveled coast to coast many times, and always brought their grandchildren with them. Armand passed in 2000. Both of them were third order Franciscans. Marcie was always a giving and selfless person, never complaining when times were tough. She will be truly missed by all. Preceded in death by two husbands; two daughters, June and Joan (Bill) Ziemer; and her grandson, Mickey Ziemer. Survived by sons, Richard (Liz) and Armand G. (Kathy); daughter, Julie; and over forty grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
