She was the daughter of Anne and Louis Tucker. She graduated from Dominican High School and Academy before moving to Minnesota to work with Heinz Ketchup Company. She then became the assistant to the station manager at KSTP Broadcasting Company. She met the love of her life, Jerome McCollor, and they were married in Detroit on April 4, 1964. They moved to White Bear Lake and raised their three boys. They were very active in three different parishes throughout their 53 years in White Bear Lake, St. Mary of the Lake, St. Genevieve, and St. John the Baptist. Madeline taught catechism at St. Mary's. Her entire family can remember how faithful she was to putting her hair in pin curls EVERY Sunday evening without fail. After the kids were older, Madeline worked for Kowalski’s Market and Electric Cords. When she was not working or taking care of her family, Madeline loved to travel. Her most memorable road trips were to Las Vegas, Alabama, Arizona, and Mississippi. When she was in Minnesota, she enjoyed going to the casino, with Jerry. At home, Madeline loved to do crosswords, play Scrabble, card games or watch TV. More than anything, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the center of her world. At holidays, Madeline would get everyone together to celebrate and decorate the house. Her most memorable dishes were turkey stuffing and cheesy potatoes. She had a soft spot in her heart for the Loaves and Fishes organization at St. Mary's church and was a loyal donor. She will be missed by all who knew her. Madeline passed away unexpectedly at St. John’s Hospital on Saturday, March 10, 2018, with her family by her side. She is preceded in death by her parents, Anne and Louis Tucker; and her sister, Joanne Nefure. She will be missed by her husband of over 53 years, Jerome “Jerry” McCollor of White Bear Lake; her children, David (Lori) McCollor of White Bear Lake, Louis (Judy) McCollor of Omaha, NE, and Cary (Carrie Ann) McCollor of New Brighton; her grandchildren, Katherine (Lewis) Dumer, Kylie McCollor, Derek McCollor, Sydney McCollor, and Connor McCollor; and her four great-grandchildren; and many other family and friends. There will be a gathering from 10AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church, 4741 Bald Eagle Avenue, White Bear Lake. Interment will be at a later date in Stillwater, MN. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the Loaves and Fishes Organization at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church.
