Lu Desmond

Lu Marie Desmond (Kapsner) Passed away peacefully February 16, 2025. Born December 20th, 1928 in Buckman, MN.

Lu was a gifted artist with a keen eye for design. She enjoyed her flower gardens and created artistic floral arrangements. Moving from Buckman, Lu was the first female teller at Commercial State Bank. Married to Thomas Desmond in 1956, they built and made their home for 50 plus years in White Bear Lake. 

Preceded in death by husband, Thomas Desmond; parents, Conrad and Catherine; brothers, Arthur and Jerry; sister, Mary Ann Kapsner. Survived by sons, John (Jan Uzlik) Desmond and Jim (Vicki) Desmond; sister, Donna Martin; and grandchildren Zachary (Allie) Desmond.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11 Am on Friday, March 7, 2025 at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church, 4741 Bald Eagle Ave, White Bear Lake, MN, with visitation an hour prior at 10 AM. Interment to follow at St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery. Reception following interment in the St. Joseph Room at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church. Memorials to Alzheimer's Association of MN and Franciscan Sisters of Little Falls, MN.
