Louise Berg

Louise Carol Berg passed away peacefully on Nov. 22, 2024, under the care of hospice at Harmony Gardens Memory Care at the age of 90. 

Louise was born in St Paul on June 2, 1934 to Carl and Sadie Lofgren along with her twin sister Lois Lofgren. Louise graduated from Harding HS in 1952 and graduated from Bethesda Nursing School in 1955. She worked at Bethesda Hospital before working for the St Paul Public Schools as a school nurse for 40 years retiring in 1995. 

Louise married Dwaine on Dec 17, 1955 which lead to a lifetime of love and devotion to each other and the family they would create. 

Louise was very active at First Lutheran Church in St Paul for all of her 90 years, participating in Sunday School, Luther League, circles, vocal choirs, hand bell choirs, visitations, and Hmong Elders group, to name a few. Louise loved the Lord, First Lutheran Church and her many friendships made there. 

Louise was a great crafter, quilter, knitter, crocheter, needlepoint, and sewer. She was always working on handmade cards for every occasion. She would often see something in the store and then go home and make it. Many items adorned her home and that of family and friends. 

Louise was preceeded in death by her only daughter Diane, her mother, father, and twin sister.

She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Dwaine, who was a devoted caregiver these past few years, son Ken (Diana) of Maplewood, Dan (Sandy) of Detroit Lakes, grandchildren Jacob, Kalie (Andy), Issac, Nathan (Shelby), Ryan (Nicki), Allison, Tanner Cornejo and great granddaughter, Josie (9 months).

Funeral will be held at First Lutheran Church Sat. Nov 30th at 11 am with visitation one hour before service. 

Funeral arrangements will be handled by Mueller Memorial Funeral Home
