Loving husband, brother, father, grandfather & great grandfather
Louis was born on June 10, 1931 in St. Paul to Josephine and Benny Continenza. He attended Harding High School and St. Paul Vocational School to become a tool and die maker. He served in the Korean War, worked for Honeywell, and later opened his own business, Mounds Park Auto Supply, which he retired from 1996. He married Elayne Eastman and they enjoyed 60 years together, raising 5 children, and helping to raise lots of grandchildren. He enjoyed gardening, his restored Model A, tinkering with cars and working in his shop. He also enjoyed family and friends at many gatherings. He loved trains, bowling, playing cards, corny jokes, working crossword puzzles and could recite many limericks. He was a longtime member of St. Pascal Baylon Catholic Church.
Louis joined his wife Elayne in heaven on March 15, 2023, with family by his side. He was preceded in death by his parents Josephine & Benny, his sister Gloria, and grandson D.J. Pnewski. He will be greatly missed by his children, Christine Howard, Stephen (Aubrey) Continenza, Cindy (Rick) Main, Michael (Shari) Continenza, and Julie (Chip) Brown, his sisters Annette (Roger) Mackenroth, Kathy Whitney, his grandchildren, Greg Howard, Kevin Klover, Alicia Continenza, Jessica Continenza, Angela Simonson, Kelly McQuiston, Laura Veum, Rick Main, Christy Smith, Louie Continenza, Hailey Continenza, Everett Continenza, Zachary Sommer and Daniel Sommer, along with many great-grandchildren, other family and friends.
There will be a gathering of family and friends from 4:00 – 7:00 PM, on Sunday, March 19, 2023 at Mueller Memorial, 835 Johnson Parkway, St Paul. Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 AM on Monday, March 20, 2023, at St Pascal Baylon Catholic Church, 1757 Conway St. St Paul, with a second visitation one hour prior to mass at church. Interment, Union Cemetery, Maplewood.
