Lorraine Ruth Zaiger Hanson

Lorraine Ruth Hanson (nee Zaiger) Age 84 of Hugo Passed Away Christmas Morning Lorraine was born in Hugo on April 13, 1931. She married the love of her life, Arthur on April 10, 1948 in St. Paul. She was a dedicated member of the Hugo American Legion Auxiliary Post 620 and of Albany Pioneer Days. She was also a longtime member of Faith Lutheran Church in Forest Lake. Lorraine loved to garden flowers, go to the flea market, and camp. She will be remembered for her caring and loving personality. Lorraine passed away peacefully on December 25, 2015 after a long battle with dementia at the Meadows on Fairview in Wyoming, MN. She was known as “Giggles” by the compassionate staff at Meadows on Fairview. Preceded in death by parents, Herman and Ruth Zaiger; brothers, Carl and Harold; husband of over 60 years, Art; daughter-in-law, Eileen; and grandson, Danny. Will be dearly missed by her daughter, Beverly (Ken) Schaffer of Wyoming; son, Gordon of Andover; grandchildren, Brad (Carol) of White Bear Lake and Mike (Davonya) of Andover; great-granddaughters, Misty and Nicole of White Bear Lake; brother, Frank Zaiger of White Bear Lake; sister-in-law, Dorothea Zaiger of Hugo; many nieces, nephews, and friends. A service to celebrate Lorraine’s life will be at 11AM on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Faith Lutheran Church, 886 N. Shore Dr., Forest Lake with a visitation beginning at 10AM. Private interment at Union Cemetery of White Bear Lake.
