Laurell's life story
Laurell Lee Longeway (nee Schmitz)
Laurell Lee was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on October 8, 1939. She was one of three children to Pearl and Al Schmitz. She attended school in Roseville, Mn. She was a phenomenal cook and would make amazing comfort food and bake breads. When it was nice out, you could find her in the garden tending to her flowers and vegetables. She really enjoyed hosting and entertaining. She loved to travel and took many trips to Hawaii, Europe, and California. On these trips, she met some celebrities. Laurell Lee had a passion for movies and has seen so many different ones. Although a private woman, that did not stop her from being very social and outgoing with her family and friends. More than anything, her quick wit and sense of humor will never be forgotten by anyone who knew her. Laurell Lee is preceded in death by her parents, Al and Pearl Schmitz. She is survived by her children, Kevin (Vicki) Longeway of White Bear Lake, Lynn (Mike) Larson of Oakdale, Dawn Lang of Forest Lake, and Laurell (the late Steve) Becker of Oakdale; 9 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, her brothers, Mark Schmitz and Mike Schmitz; and many other family and friends.
