Katherine "Kate" Dunn passed away peacefully early March 23 with family by her side.

She was preceded in death by her husband Pete of 60 years. She is survived by three daughters, Pat Dunn-Walker (Randy), Sue Moores (Mark), Nancy Dunn (Blane) and five grandchildren, Jack (Laura), Clare (Lance), Eileen, Sophia, and Kip.

Katherine Tegge was born in 1929 in Madison, Wisconsin. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin at Madison in 1951 with a degree in criminology. After graduation she moved to Chicago and went to work for the Northern Trust Bank. Kate worked in several Human Resource jobs notably with the Red Cross and Encyclopedia Britannica. While working in Chicago she met and married Peter Dunn her husband of 60 years with whom she shared three daughters. Kate also worked as a math teacher at her daughters' school and later as math teacher in various volunteer programs.

Upon Pete's retirement from Allstate insurance, Kate instigated a move to Albuquerque, New Mexico where they greatly enjoyed the desert-like terrain and studying the cultures of indigenous people. Pete and Kate were excellent tour guides and loved to entertain visitors and show them the wonders of the Southwest.

Eventually Pete and Kate moved to Minnesota to be closer to family. Upon Pete's passing, Kate moved to Waverly Gardens in North Oaks, Minnesota.

Kate had a lifelong love of music and would often participate in choirs, most recently the Waverly Gardens choir. She was a voracious reader and was a member of the Waverly library committee. Kate's ability to be an excellent listener won her many friends. She will be sorely missed but her gift of friendship will always be treasured. The family greatly appreciates the care given to Kate at Waverly Gardens.

The family will be holding a private service for Kate. Service will be recorded and posted to the Mueller Memorial Obituary page afterwards for anyone who may wish to view.
