passed away peacefully on December 21, 2011 surrounded by family at the age of 88 years. Preceded in death by her parents, John and Elma Johnson; son, John and his wife, Martha; and by Robert Frolund. She was born June 14, 1923 in Minneapolis and graduated from Washburn High School. She worked for the water department, was a teacher aide, and fought tirelessly for the rights of individuals with special needs. She is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth M. Rue; son, Dave and his wife, Jane; son, Jim and his wife, Susan; daughter, Nancy; grandchildren, John, Christine, Samantha, Jessica, Nathan; nine great-grandchildren; and by cousin, John Enge of St. Louis. It was said she had a million dollar smile. She cooked feasts, never turned anyone away, and loved the company of her children. The world was a better place with her. She will be missed. Funeral Service 11 AM Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at Grace Lutheran Church, 1730 Old Hudson Road, St. Paul, with visitation one hour prior to the time of the service. Interment Union Cemetery, Maplewood. Memorials are preferred to Kaposia, 380 East Lafayette Freeway South, Suite 212, St. Paul, MN 55107.
