Visitation 4-6PM on Monday (August 7) at Mueller Memorial, 4738 Bald Eagle Ave., White Bear Lake with a service at 6PM. Interment 10AM at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in New Richmond, WI on Tuesday. As a small child, June and her parents moved between South Dakota and Southern Minnesota living with extended family. Eventually, her and her mother settled in Mankato where she attended school and graduated from Mankato High school in 1952. After graduation she moved to St. Paul, with encouragement from her dad, to seek work in the cities. She went to work at Minnesota Federal Savings and Loan. Shortly afterwards she subleased a 2 bedroom apartment with several other girlfriends. She and her friends enjoyed traveling and going out dancing at the Prom ballroom where she met the love of her life, Joe. Later, on a very cold day, January 23, 1960, June and Joe were married. They were blessed with 3 daughters and settled in White Bear Lake. June loved being a wife and a mother, she loved being involved in all her kids’ activities and supported Joe in all of his endeavors. Sadly in June 1984 their life together was cut short by Joe’s sudden death. At that time she said she would never remarry as you only have a love like that once in a lifetime. Thanks to God’s grace, just two weeks later June became a grandma for the first time. From that time on grandkids became the new focus and love of her life. Along with doing daycare for her grandkids, she enjoyed working part time at Minnesota Fabrics. She was an excellent seamstress her whole life and very creative. She shared these many talents with her family and friends. Along with her chocolate chip cookies that were always available to all who stopped by. By 2001, June had 8 grandkids and played a major role in helping to raise them all to become respectful, kind and loving adults. By 2016 she had 2 great grandkids which she thoroughly enjoyed. June was very resilient and her ability to overcome adversity was inspiring. Though she spoke her mind when needed, she always had the compassion for all who needed it. She taught her kids and grandkids to be respectful, caring individuals and to pursue their passions. June was a generous sole and though not often spoken in words, you never doubted her love for you. She will be greatly missed.
