Joseph Hofmann
Passed away peacefully at age 78

Of complications from Lewy Body Disease. Joe was born in Wanda, MN to John and Mary Hofmann. He graduated from Lamberton High School in 1954 and served his country in the US Army. He was a Life Member of the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers #152339 Local 1, retiring in 1998. He built his family a home in White Bear Lake in 1977, where he lived until the death of his wife. He spent the last five years living comfortably at The Commons on Marice in Eagan. He will be deeply missed by his children, Jeanne (Tony) Gilbert, Jeff (Kathy) Hofmann, Julie (Chuck) Hentges and Jody (Brian) Minnerath. Also the joys of his life, his grandchildren: Samantha, Chelsea and Nick Gilbert; Matthew, Joey and Timmy Hofmann; Isaac, Erika, Danielle and Carley Hentges; Emma, Jacob, and Samuel Minnerath and Joe Imesch. Joe is also survived by his siblings; Frank and John (Gerorgine) Hofmann, Maggie (Bob) Schroedl, Jiggs Hughes and Pat (Chuck) Guetter and brother-in-law, Rich Hoag. Preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Gretchen; infant son, Joseph; his parents; siblings: Benny (Irene) Hofmann, Betty (Bob) Schenk; in-laws, Tom Hughes, Janet Hofmann, Marianne (Jerry) Urmann and Barb Hoag. Visitation will begin at 9:30 am on Wednesday, August 13. Mass will begin at 11am at St. John Neumann Church, 4030 Pilot Knob Road, Eagan. Burial at 2pm at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials preferred to The Commons on Marice Employee Appreciation Fund.
