Joseph F. Cain

Joseph Francis Cain, age 65, passed away on February 4, 2025 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Joe, was born in St. Paul to John and Joan Cain on July 31, 1959. He graduated from Hill Murray in 1977. Joe had various job before graduating from plumbing school where he was a long-time member of Plumbers Local #34. He then met the love of his life, Julie, and they married in 2003. Joe was proud of his Italian heritage and took on the role of making stuffed calamari at the Cain-Trebiani Christmas dinner. Joe loved leftovers from the family dinners, so he was always sent home with a care package. As a family man, Joe had great love for his mother, Joan, and his Auntie Lou as well as raising his two children, Brittany and Brock, with Julie. In addition, Joe also made many friends throughout his life keeping in contact with both his childhood friends and plumber friends. Joe, also, was a man of faith attending weekly mass at The Assumption in St. Paul as well as attending annual faith retreats. Joe has two brothers, Tom and Matt, and his favorite sister, Michelle, of which he loved them very much. Joe is known as “Papa” to his three grandchildren; Lyla, Hailey, and Levi.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents John and Joan Cain and Aunt Mary Lou Trebiani. He is survived by his wife, Julie; children Brittany Harnett (Jen) and Brock Schwanke (Isis); proud Papa of Lyla, Hailey and Levi; siblings Tom (Mary), Michelle Langevin (Jeff) & Matthew (Amanda); many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 10:00 am at CHURCH OF THE ASSUMPTION, 51 West 7th Street, St. Paul. Visitation Friday, February 21st from 4-7:00 pm at MUELLER MEMORIAL, 835 Johnson Parkway, St. Paul and one hour before the Mass on Saturday at church. Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers.
