Jose Humberto Rodriguez, 51, passed away suddenly on September 27, 2022. Known by many nicknames from his family and friends: Joe, Jojo, Pinocchio, tickle monster, and Beto; Jose was born on March 6, 1971 in Sinaloa, Mexico. He attended Longfellow Elementary, Wilson Junior High, Blair High School, and PCC. On December 6, 1989 in Los Angeles, California, Jose married Veronica Acosta.
Jose liked cars, he was a car audio installer and was the owner of his business: Joe Daddy Rentals. He enjoyed watching baseball (big Dodgers fan!) and renovating his home. He was an excellent cook and loved to host family and friends and gatherings at his home. Jose was very reliable, smart, and hardworking. Mostly he loved being the tickle monster and was always cracking dad jokes. He was a caring and loving husband, dad, grandpa, uncle and friend and will be deeply missed.
He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Nevaeh Rodriguez; father, Epifano; father-in-law, Jorge Acosta; grandmother, Maria Hernandez; cousin, Carlos Hernandez; friend, Eduardo "Titi" Figueroa; and compadre, Sergio Ornelas.
He is survived by his wife, Veronica; his children, Antonio (Sabrina Labar), Nancy, Ryan Joseph, and Bryanna Raquel; and his sister-in-law, who he raised as one of his own children after her father passed, Alicia Acosta; grandchildren, Jorge Antonio, Noah Alexander, Luna Isabella Sanchez, Kaylanni Marie, Luciano Capone, and baby Rodriguez; mother, Petra; and siblings, Epifano "Beef", Dolores "Lolo", and Nancy Macias.
He is further survived by his aunts and uncles, Martha and Martin Hernandez, Guillermo, Rita, Sophia and Eleovaldo, Antonio, Rosa, and Rojelio and Lula; nieces and nephews, Stephanie M, Yoshi M, Evelyn M, Aidan M, Andy R, Oscar R, Iliana M, Brenda G, Johnny A, Rosa A, Kathy L, Mario T, Andrew L, Vanessa A, Stephanie A, Melanie T, Ramon A, Maribel A, Markie A, Selene A, Julian A, Jorge A, Sophie B, Eduardo A, Olivia A, Aidah B, and Genaro B; special friends, Long, Andy, Adolfo, Israel, Manny, Marcelo, Arnie, Rudy, Frank Nuño, Erick, Will, Robert, Chico Brothers, Soria Brothers, Patty, Kila, Lexie and Bryan, Travis, and Victor; and in-laws, Hazel M, Mari R, Cheryl R, Avis A, Tata and Bertha Acosta, Leo and Dena Acosta, Adela and Jose Lopez, Aracely and Blas Tapia, Letty and Ramon Arellano, and Doña Maria; and cousins, Cheuy, Sandy, Bryan, Lisa, George, Aleida, and Pearl.
A funeral mass will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at Sacred Heart Church, 840 6th St E, St Paul, with visitation from 9 AM until the time of mass at the church. A visitation will also be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 from 4 PM to 7 PM with a Rosary Service at 6:30 PM at Mueller Memorial, 835 Johnson Parkway, St. Paul.
