John Joseph Stiehl

Stiehl, John Beloved Husband, Father And Grandfather Age 71. John Stiehl passed away unexpectedly on November 5, 2011. Survived by his wife of 48 years, Ellen; son, John; daughter, Janet (Lee); daughter-in-law, Jane; son-in-law, Steve; grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, Anna, Ian, Eleanor; and brother, Dan (Carol). John was born on June 24, 1940 and grew up in Madison, Wisconsin. In high school, John was an avid Boy Scout, earning his Eagle Scout. Following a two year assignment in Germany with the U.S. Army, he then moved to Vadnais Heights, Minnesota in 1965 where he has lived ever since. He worked as a computer programmer for Control Data and then Experior, retiring in 2004. He loved spending time with Ellen at their cabin near Spooner, Wisconsin and with his much loved grandchildren. He also enjoyed traveling, coin collecting, model trains and gardening. Memorial Service 11 AM Friday, November 11, 2011 at Incarnation Lutheran Church, 4880 Hodgson Road, Shoreview, with visitation one hour prior to the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the food shelf at Incarnation Lutheran Church.
