John Martin Sockness

Sockness, John M. of Cottage Grove Formerly of St. Paul Born August 28, 1927, died at home amongst his family on October 22, 2013. Survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Emelia (Dinzeo); precious daughter and son, Dawn Broich and Jay Sockness; Daughter-in-law, Michele; cherished grandchildren, Emily, Dustin, Megan and Madeline (Max Herrmann); Sister-in-law, Josephine Lapore; two brothers, Cliff and Neal Sockness, and many nieces and nephews. A member of the Goodrich Men’s Golf Club and an avid bowler. John’s loving personality will be remembered by all. A Celebration of John’s Life will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2013 from 1-4 PM at Mueller Memorial Parkway Chapel, 835 Johnson Parkway, St. Paul with a Memorial Service to begin at 2:30 PM. Luncheon to follow the Memorial Service at the funeral home. A special thank you to Nikki, Carla, Pastor Norman, Melanie, and other caregivers from HealthEast hospice care.
